Location: Hybrid – Leeds

As an associate director, you will have two main functions in the role. First, you will support the operational delivery of the business as a senior consultant who leads the projects assigned to you. Second, you will be part of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and share the responsibility with your fellow SLT members for implementing the business strategy successfully. The role involves managing and delivering projects on a daily basis, ensuring Opex meets the client’s expectations and fosters growth through long-term commercial relationships.

Main Duties

Provide facilities management consultancy support to clients, adhering to best industry practices and Opex processes and procedures. To have and maintain industry-leading expertise and best industry practice knowledge in at least one of the services listed below:

  • Fulfil your separate SLT roles and responsibilities as required to ensure implementation of the business strategy.
  • Make sure that projects and assignments have enough resources and that the outcomes meet the requirements and the client’s satisfaction, including effective delivery and oversight of projects.
  • To provide technical advice and writing input to support bid and tender presentations
  • To meet with clients to review project progress and milestones, discuss issues, update on costs, highlight risks, advise on compliance, develop technical solutions, and assume ownership of key actions.
  • Assume a key role in shaping the team for the future as well as coaching and development of key individuals.
  • To develop, in conjunction with the Directors, key relationships and ensure that the Opex proposition is well understood and articulated.
  • In consultation with SLT, develop and administer a staff performance reporting mechanisms across the business to support individual and business growth.
  • In consultation with SLT, implement OKRs (Objectives and Key Results)
  • To maintain regular and pro-active dialogue with Opex consultants to understand their availability, commitments and to allocate and coordinate resource as necessary for projects
  • To manage projects effectively with particular focus on budget and resource allocation, management and control of risk, acting as a point of escalation whilst managing the expectations of clients
  • To identify collaborative arrangements and partnership working opportunities to enhance Opex reputation
  • To ensure adherence to Opex standards of “excellence” in working as well as ISO accreditation
  • To network actively and build connections within specific sectors
  • To ensure that Opex resource and infra-structure is able to support growth
  • To contribute to the development of industry and sector best practice
  • Other reasonable requests

Experience & Skills

  • Significant operational and commercial experience and management of P&L
  • Senior operational FM/Estates/Service delivery role including line management of multi-disciplinary maintenance and engineering teams
  • Knowledge and understanding of engineering operations within the Healthcare sector with specific experience in large Hospitals (HTMs & HBMs)
  • Recommending improved processes to drive continuous improvement
  • Development and implementation of management systems in accordance with ISO
